Valley Metro Media Advisory: Temporary schedule changes & station closures for Valley Metro Rail

January 26, 2021

Construction on South Central Extension/Downtown Hub will lead to a schedule adjustment for light rail on February 13-26 and March 13-26. During each of those two-week periods, light rail trains throughout the entire system will arrive every 30 minutes, instead of every 15 minutes. During each of these two-week periods, some downtown stations will be closed.

In order to build the Downtown Hub portion of the project, light rail trains will single-track from just before the Roosevelt/Central Ave station until after the 3rd St/Jefferson and 3rd St/Washington stations.

On February 13-26, both eastbound and westbound trains will alternate traveling on the 1st Avenue and Jefferson Street tracks (see below).
