The design concept, called Extrados, is a contemporary, modified cable-stay bridge that the Working Group felt would not compete with adjacent landmark Mill Avenue Bridges and the historic railroad bridge. The bridge will cost approximately $15 million to construct. Final design of the bridge will take place over the next year. The bridge design concept will be displayed at public hearings for the Draft Environmental Statement during January.
