The city of Phoenix Public Transit Department's brand-new copper-colored Valley Metro buses will make their debut to replace the old purple DASH shuttles and to start all-day service to the State Capitol. The DASH is a circulating transit service covering downtown Phoenix and the State Capitol. Before Monday, there was only lunchtime service to the capitol. The DASH runs its weekday route from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., changing to a night route through Copper Square from 5:30 to 11 p.m. Also new is a weekend and holiday DASH route through downtown Phoenix entertainment venues from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. The new DASH is part of the Phoenix Transit Plan - an integrated multi-modal transit system funded by a Phoenix-voter approved sales tax.
