Subject: Weekend Freeway Restrictions in Phoenix Area (April 4-7); Eastbound I-10 narrows near Wild Horse Pass Date: Thursday, April 03, 2008 7:57 PM Weekend Freeway Restrictions in Phoenix Area (April 4-7); Eastbound I-10 narrows near Wild Horse Pass Several improvement projects will require freeway restrictions in the Phoenix area this weekend (April 4-7). The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) recommends drivers allow for extra travel time while the following restrictions are in place: * Eastbound I-10 narrowed to one lane between Chandler Boulevard and Wild Horse Pass Boulevard from 11 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (April 7) for rubberized asphalt paving. Eastbound I-10 on ramps at Chandler Boulevard and Wild Horse Pass will be closed. Both Loop 202 ramps to eastbound I-10 will be closed. DETOUR: Use the southbound Loop 101 or eastbound/westbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) to access southbound Price Road. Continue south on Price Road and go west on Queen Creek Road to reach eastbound I-10, or use southbound Arizona Avenue and State Route 587 to also access I-10. * Southbound State Route 143 closed between McDowell Road and University Drive from 11 p.m. Friday to 11 p.m. Saturday (April 5) for bridge maintenance. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes. * Interstate 17 narrowed to one lane in both directions at Dove Valley Road, which is one mile south of the Carefree Highway, from 10 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday (April 7) for bridge construction. Drivers urged to slow down and merge safely approaching the work zone. * Northbound Loop 101 right lane and off ramp closed at Broadway Road from 9 p.m. Friday to noon on Saturday (April 5) for maintenance work. Drivers urged to slow down and merge safely approaching the work zone. * Westbound Interstate 10 right two lanes closed at Broadway Road and off ramp closed from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday (April 7) for ongoing construction work on the off ramp.
