for our next Friends of Transit Tuesday's Event
Tuesday, July 10
Featuring
The Stockyards Restaurant and 1889 Saloon
5009 E. Washington St., Phoenix
As the Friends of Transit Tuesdays business of the week.
The first 100 people who bring this e-mail to The Stockyards will
receive:
$5 off any item in the Dining Room or the Saloon
(Valid for dinner from 5-9 p.m. in the dining room and 3-9 p.m. in the
Saloon, Minimum $10 purchase per discount, one discount per patron.)
Established in 1947, the Stockyards Restaurant and 1889 Saloon is a
Valley landmark. While the Stockyards underwent a major renovation and
restoration in 2005, it has retained its Old West comfort, charm and
historical character, and was recently added to the City of Phoenix
Historical Register for both its architectural style and role in
Arizona's cattle industry. The Stockyards Restaurant got its name from
the nearby Tovrea Land and Cattle Co., which was established by cattle
baron Edward A. Tovrea in 1919 and, by the early 1950's, had grown to be
the world's largest feed lot. Although cattle fortunes faded in the late
1950's and pens slowly gave way to urban growth, the popularity of
Arizona's Original Steakhouse remains intact, more than 50 years later.
The Stockyards is famous for its steaks and prime rib, but also serves
ribs, pork chops, chicken, fish and shellfish entrees. For the complete
menu, visit http://www.stockyardsrestaurant.com
While you're there, enter our raffle to win prizes from merchants along
the route!
See you Tuesday, July 10!
