The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) says the following freeway restrictions are scheduled for the rubberized asphalt paving and other projects: Westbound Interstate 10 narrowed to one lane (carpool lane) between Baseline Road and Southern Avenue and westbound US 60 narrowed to two lanes between Priest Drive and I-10 from 3 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday (June 10) for rubberized asphalt paving. Westbound I-10 ramp to northbound I-17 at the "Split" near Sky Harbor Airport also closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 3 p.m. Saturday (June 9) for rubberized asphalt paving. East Valley drivers can use northbound Loop 101 and westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) as an alternate route to avoid anticipated traffic backups along westbound I-10. Westbound US 60 (Superstition Freeway) narrowed to three lanes between Higley Road and 24th Street from 9 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday (June 9) for lane striping work. Westbound US 60 on and off-ramps between Higley and Val Vista also closed. Higley Road narrowed to one lane in each direction between Hampton and Inverness avenues from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (June 11) for bridge work. Westbound US 60 off-ramp and eastbound on-ramp at Higley also closed. Use Greenfield Road as alternate north-south route. Southbound Interstate 17 narrowed to two lanes between Yorkshire Drive and Peoria Avenue from 9 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday (June 10) for maintenance work. Northbound I-17 narrowed to two lanes between Peoria Avenue and Yorkshire Drive from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday (June 11) for maintenance work. Drivers should be prepared to slow down and merge safely approaching the work zones during these overnight restrictions. Interstate 17 narrowed to one lane in each direction between Happy Valley Road and Carefree Highway (SR 74) from 10 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday (June 11) for placement of construction zone barrier wall.
