The major service improvements in Glendale are a direct result of the transportation package approved by voters last year. Changes also include bus service every 30 minutes until 10 p.m. on all routes, Monday through Saturday. One-way bus fares remain $1.25 for adults and $1.75 for express routes that operate on weekdays. The additional routes in Glendale will make it easier for passengers to link to other Valley Metro services. More people are using the Valley's regional transit system. Valley Metro has carried about 45 million passengers between July 2001 to June 2002; that's an increase of 5 million over last year. The new Valley Metro Bus Book is available and can be found at 1,800 locations Valleywide, as well as on local buses, at city libraries and other municipal buildings.
