Subject: March 18 Transportation Master Plan Informational Workshop Cancelled Date: Friday, March 10, 2006 5:42 PM We apologize for the short notice, but we have had to cancel the March 18 Transportation Master Plan Informational Workshop. The March 30 Informational Workshop will still be held. The Thursday evening, March 30 workshop will feature Rick Cole, former Mayor of Pasadena, CA, and current City Manager of Ventura, CA. Rick will start off the evening with a broad discussion of transportation ideas to spark discussion. Following the presentation, the HDR consulting and city staff team will lead "table exercises" to talk through preliminary ideas, issues, and options for our transportation future. The March 30 workshop will be held from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Community Design Studio, 7506 E. Indian School Road. Rick Cole biography from Venture CA website: Rick Cole was appointed City Manager of Ventura in April 2004. Called "one of Southern California's most visionary planning thinkers" by the Los Angeles Times, he previously served six years as City Manager of Azusa, California. Under Cole's leadership, Azusa was described as the "most improved city in the San Gabriel Valley" by the San Gabriel Valley Tribune. He brings an unusual background to city management, having previously served as the Southern California Director of the Local Government Commission, Mayor of Pasadena, Executive Director of the West Hollywood Marketing Corporation and co-founder of the Pasadena Weekly newspaper.
