ADOT encourages you to use alternate routes when possible to avoid traffic delays in the following areas: * Westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) closed between Scottsdale Road and Priest Drive from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (March 6) for work to prepare the freeway for rubberized asphalt paving later this spring. The ramps from north and southbound Loop 101 (Price Freeway) to the westbound Loop 202) (Red Mountain Freeway) also will be closed. Westbound U.S. 60 (Superstition Freeway) is the recommended alternate route this weekend. Drivers who normally would use the westbound Loop 202 to reach Sky Harbor International Airport can instead use the Loop 101 to westbound U.S. 60 and westbound I-10 to approach the airport. Traffic on the westbound Loop 202 will exit and go south on Scottsdale Road, then west on University Drive and use northbound SR 143 (Hohokam Expressway) to reconnect with the Loop 202. * Eastbound U.S. 60 will be narrowed to three lanes between Gilbert Road and Val Vista Drive 11 p.m. Friday to 7 p.m. Saturday (March 4) for freeway widening work. Westbound U.S. 60 will be narrowed to three lanes between Val Vista Drive and Gilbert Road 9 p.m. Saturday to 9 p.m. Sunday (March 5) for widening work. Drivers should give themselves extra travel time, be prepared to slow down and merge safely when approaching the work zones. * Eastbound Interstate 10 will be narrowed to three lanes between 16th St. and Washington St. from 10 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday (March 4) for overhead sign replacement work. The eastbound I-10 ramps to SR 51 and eastbound Loop 202 will also be closed. Drivers should be prepared to slow down and merge safely in the work zone. * Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway) in the West Valley narrowed to one lane in each direction between Glendale Ave. and Camelback Rd. from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday (March 5) for work on the new Maryland Avenue overpass. Drivers should consider using alternate routes, including 99th Avenue, to travel beyond the lane restrictions. Drivers should give themselves extra travel time, be prepared to slow down and merge safely when approaching the work zone. * The ramp from eastbound U.S. 60 to southbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) near Sossaman Road will be closed 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (March 6) while work continues on the "SuperRedTan" interchange linking U.S. 60 and the Loop 202 in Mesa.
