The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) is urging drivers to use alternate routes if possible to avoid traffic backups while the following work is taking place: Westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain) closed between the Loop 101 and Priest Drive in the Tempe area from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (May 15) for rubberized asphalt paving. All Loop 101 ramps to east and westbound Loop 202 closed. Westbound on ramps at Dobson and McClintock, plus westbound on and off ramps at Scottsdale Rd. closed. Drivers can use westbound US 60 as an alternate freeway route this weekend. Westbound Loop 202 traffic will detour north on Loop 101, west on McDowell Rd. and south on the SR 143 ramp to westbound Loop 202. Loop 101 (Agua Fria) narrowed to one lane in each direction between Camelback Rd. and Glendale Ave. from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday (May 14) for paving and bridge work. The northbound on ramp at Camelback, southbound on ramp at Glendale and southbound off ramp at Camelback will be closed. Drivers should give themselves extra time and consider using 91st or 99th avenues as alternate north-south routes in the area. Eastbound I-10 narrowed (right lane closed) in the Deck Park Tunnel between 7th Ave. and 7th St. from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday (May 13) for maintenance work. Eastbound I-10 on ramp at 7th Avenue closed. Drivers are asked to use caution in the work zone and be prepared to merge safely. (Note-Monday night closure) Loop 101 (Price) closed in both directions between University Dr. and Broadway Rd. from 9 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday (May 16) for light rail bridge work. Traffic detoured along freeway frontage roads. Loop 202 ramps to southbound Loop 101 closed. US 60 ramps to northbound Loop 101 also closed. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes, including Dobson Road and McClintock Drive. Westbound US 60 narrowed (right lane closed) between Ellsworth Rd. and the Loop 202 interchange project from 4 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday (May 13) for lane striping and barrier placement. Westbound US 60 on and off ramps at Ellsworth closed. Grand Ave. (US 60) narrowed to one lane in each direction at the intersection with 35th Ave. and the intersection with Northern Ave. from 5 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday (May 15) for paving. 35th Ave. and Northern Ave. closed in each direction approaching Grand Ave. Drivers are encouraged to use adjacent major cross streets alternate routes.
