From: "Friends of Transit" To: Subject: REVISED: Central Station bus stops move for light rail construction Date: Friday, September 02, 2005 6:11 PM REVISED: Central Station bus stops move for light rail construction (PHOENIX) September 1, 2005: Bus stops in and around Central Station, Van Buren Street and Central Avenue, in downtown Phoenix will be impacted by the on-going light rail construction project. Beginning Wednesday, September 7, passengers will find some bus stops permanently or temporarily moved for some routes. Directions will be posted at the stops with new locations. Route 7-7th St. (northbound) - weekday nighttime trips after 7 p.m. moved from Van Buren at Central to a temporary stop on Van Buren in front of Central Station. Routes Red Line (eastbound), Blue Line (southbound), 0 (southbound), & 10 (westbound) will be permanently moved from inside Central Station to the northwest corner of First Avenue and Van Buren Street. Information about other changes or impacts to bus service will be updated during the course of light rail construction.
