Friends,

Yesterday, we sent you a note about SB 1403, which was included in part of the Legislative Budget Package that was sent to the Governor.  This bill would have significantly reduced LTAF-II funding for transit across the state.  Our alert included a letter that the Arizona Transit Association (AzTA) sent to the Governor asking her to veto this bill.

We are happy to report that the Governor's Office has contacted both AzTA and Friends of Transit to let us know that the Governor has VETOED the Legislative Budget Package, including SB 1403.

While the transit community's opposition to the LTAF-II reduction certainly contributed to the outcome, there were, of course, a host of other significant factors.
